Product Description
Epidermis & Sebum Balancer CB is a premium Alpine extract for cosmetic skincare.
From the Epilobium Fleischeri plant, a rare Willowherb that grows above 1,000 metres in the Swiss mountains. This unique environment ensures a nutrient-rich, eco-friendly ingredient for healthy, balanced skin.
Contains flavonoids and Oenothein B, both known for their benefits in skincare. These natural compounds soothe, refresh, and radiate the skin.
Product is a clear to slightly opalescent liquid, amber to brown, with a natural odour. Slightly viscous texture makes it easy to add to serums, creams, and lotions.
Formulators love it for sebum balancing, great for oily or combination skin types. Sebum produced by sebaceous glands is released onto the skin’s surface through hair follicles. Increased sebum production can cause oily or combination skin issues. And it’s gentle enough for sensitive skin, for a calm and even complexion.
By combining hydration with balance, Epidermis & Sebum Balancer CB helps improve skin texture, reduce shine, and look fresh. Balancing the amount of sebum on the skin’s surface prevents excess oil and a clearer complexion.

Sebum Production
Sebum production is a natural process for healthy skin. The skin’s sebaceous glands produce sebum, an oily substance that moisturises and protects the skin’s surface from environmental stressors. While sebum is essential for supple and resilient skin, excess sebum production can cause oily skin, acne-prone skin, and clogged pores. Hormones, diet, and lifestyle can all influence sebum secretion, so it’s important to understand how your skin produces oil. By learning to regulate sebum production, you can prevent common skin concerns like excess sebum, breakouts, and sensitivity, and support a balanced, healthy complexion – especially if you have sensitive skin or are oily.
Skin Types
Every skin type has its own needs, especially when it comes to sebum production. Normal skin has a natural balance, just enough sebum to keep the skin comfortable and hydrated. Oily skin has excess sebum production, which can cause shine, enlarged pores, and a higher risk of breakouts. Sensitive skin types are more reactive and can be easily irritated by harsh ingredients or excess sebum. Choosing the right products is key: oily skin products are formulated to control oil and minimise pores, sensitive skin toners and anti-acne active formulas regulate sebum production and soothe irritation. For oily skin, oil-free formulations and calming flower waters help to keep the skin fresh and matte. Gentle cleansers are for sensitive skin. Understanding your skin type is the first step to building a routine that keeps your skin healthy, balanced, and clear.
Sebum in Skin Health
Sebum is essential for skin health; it’s a natural oil that keeps the skin hydrated and forms a barrier against environmental stressors. But when sebum production goes into overdrive, it can cause oily skin, clogged pores, and acne. Hormonal changes, high glycemic foods, and extensive mask wearing can all contribute to sebum overproduction and mask-related skin conditions and t-zone oiliness. To keep your skin healthy, you need to regulate sebum production through consistent skincare routines. Gentle cleansers, exfoliants, and lightweight moisturisers can help to balance the skin. Natural ingredients like rosehip oil, evening primrose, and willowherb plant are soothing and great for sensitive and acne-prone skin. A great recipe with epidermis and sebum balancer can improve skin texture, minimise the appearance of large pores, and keep the skin clear. Water-based gel serums and oil-free products are also effective in controlling excess sebum and preventing clogged pores, especially during mask use. By choosing the right products and ingredients, you can support your skin’s natural balance and get a healthy, radiant complexion.
