Base Cream for Mature Skin

Aromantic’s Base Mature Skin Cream is rich, hydrating and kind to the skin, leaving the skin feeling soft, supple and super nourished. It has a high content of Omega 6 & 9 (Oleic Acid & Linoleic Acid) which are both vital elements in helping to maintain the healthy appearance of maturing skin. A generous amount of antioxidants, helping to fight free radicals that can cause premature aging of the skin, are found in both the Vitamin E and Rice Bran Oil.

It may be used daily, applied to any area of the face or body that would benefit from some extra nourishment.

It is both palm free and vegan.

Technically, base products do not need to have a CPSR or PET but here, at Aromantic, we do send our bases off to the lab for testing. Microbial growths cannot always be seen, so we always ensure the safety of our products. This reassures both us, and you, that the product is safe, the preservative is working properly, and has been approved as such by the lab tests.

Our new Base Cream For Mature Skin may have up to 3% of oil soluble ingredients added to it without compromising the integrity of the preservative system in the product.This can include up to 1% of your chosen essential oil blend, remembering to check for the safety levels of your blend. It could also include any of our fabulous oil soluble Active Ingredients such as Collagen Boost & Bronze, Coenzyme Q10 Plus E or Eco Marine Algae Extract. Botanical CO2 Extracts such as Sea Buckthorn CO2 Extract or Arctic Cranberry CO2 Extract would be valuable additions as would Pomegranate Seed Oil or Prickly Pear Seed Oil, as long as the total, combined amount does not exceed 3%. Although it is designed as a base cream, you don’t have to add anything to it if you would rather use it as it is.

If you decide to add water-soluble ingredients or a combination of both oil soluble and water-soluble ingredients, the combined total can still only be 3%. However, because water-soluble ingredients have the potential to affect the balance of the preservative, you will need to obtain both a new CPSR and PET for retail sale. If any water soluble added ingredients are acidic in nature be aware that they may cause separation of this cream and are likely to change the final pH of the product. Check the website details for each ingredient you want to add to see if it is oil soluble or water-soluble and the usage rates.

Please see below for information on the CPSR (Cosmetic Product Safety Report) & PET (Preservative Efficacy Test) requirements if you do add anything to the base product.

The pH of this product, without any extra ingredients is pH 5-6, which is the optimum pH for a mature skin cream.

Please check the final pH of your product after you have made any additions. This must fall between pH3-10 in order for the preservative to continue functioning fully.

If you are intending to resell this product without the addition of any extra ingredients, please ensure you obtain a revised CPSR in your own name. You will need to contact Oxford BioSciences for this service, for which there is a cost of approximately £40.

If you are intending to resell this product and add any oil soluble ingredients to the Base Cream For Oily Skin, you will need to obtain a new CPSR that includes your added ingredients. You will not need a new PET. However, if you intend to resell this product and add any water soluble ingredients, or a combination of both oil soluble and water soluble ingredients (remember only up to 3%) you will need to obtain both a new CPSR and PET. This will be necessary as adding water soluble ingredients has the potential to upset the balance of the preservative system in this base cream and will apply regardless of which assessor you choose to use.

Please note: This is an arrangement that Aromantic has with Oxford BioSciences, so if you choose to go to a different cosmetic assessor that arrangement will not stand, and you will need both a new CPSR & PET regardless of the assessor. This will also apply if you use ingredients not from Aromantic, as the assessor would have to research those ingredients at an extra cost.

Rice Bran Oil. Rice Bran Oil is rich in Tocotrienols (anti oxidants) and naturally contains a liquid form of Oryzanol, a Vitamin B derivative, that helps to keep skin soft and healthy. It is a valuable source of both Omega 6 & 9 (Oleic Acid & Linoleic Acid) that may help maturing skin. It is suitable for all skin types.

Cocoa Butter. Softens, nourishes & protects the skin. Cocoa Butter slows down TEWL which helps to keep the skin hydrated and conditioned. Just what your mature skin needs.

Emulsifier M. This fabulous emulsifier gives all products the most superior skin feel of any emulsifier we have used making even heavy ingredients like Cocoa Butter feel light and elegant. It sinks into the skin quickly providing long lasting hydration, leaving a matte finish. Emulsifier M is guaranteed palm free.

Saccharide Isomerate Plus. This is an intensive, natural moisture enhancer that binds with the skin enabling deep and lasting hydration. It helps to reduce the signs of mature skin and has a cumulative effect when used in a product regularly. Products including Saccharide Isomerate Plus give you both an immediate and long lasting, substantial effect.

Vitamin E. As a powerful antioxidant Vitamin E is valuable in all skin care products designed for maturing skin. It helps to boost the skin’s circulation giving it a more healthy glow, helps to prevent moisture loss and can be valuable in preventing damage from environmental factors.

Saliguard® PCG. The preservative used in our Base Cream For Mature Skin is Saliguard® PCG. This highly effective, extremely mild preservative is lower in Phenoxyethanol than other preservatives, meaning there is the potential to add water-soluble ingredient(s) that are also preserved with Phenoxyethanol. You need to ensure that the combined amounts do not exceed the safety level required. As such, you will need a new PET and CPSR if you intend to sell your product with added water-soluble ingredients.
