Product Description
Organic Cocoa Butter is a natural, solid vegetable fat extracted from the roasted seeds of the cocoa pod (Theobroma cacao). With its creamy texture and natural emollient properties, this ingredient is a staple in nourishing skincare formulations to soothe, hydrate and protect the skin.
Pale yellow with a natural chocolate smell*, this butter adds thickness and luxury to products. It’s a mixture of fatty acids which contribute to its moisturising and skin-protecting properties. Cocoa butter melts at body temperature due to its melting point, making it perfect for skin application.
Cocoa butter is extracted from roasted cocoa beans through pressing and filtering. Our organic cocoa butter is supplied in solid blocks or chips for easy measuring and melting depending on volume ordered.
Cocoa butter from responsible cocoa products is important, especially from West African countries like the Ivory Coast, which are major producers.
Cocoa butter is a popular ingredient in beauty products, lotions, skin creams, skin care products and cocoa butter products. It contains vitamin E, which is good for the skin and lips.
This cocoa butter is certified organic and sourced with quality and sustainability in mind, for formulators and DIY cosmetic creators, a reliable and versatile raw ingredient for many natural skincare recipes.
*Note: As this is a natural product, the strength of the aroma may vary slightly from batch to batch.
How to use it
- Use 1%-100%.
- Cocoa butter has a hard consistency and is solid at room temperature, but can easily be softened by melting or rubbing between your fingers.
- It is heat-tolerant and easy to use in the fat stage (stage 1) of creams and lotions, balms, body butters, soaps, and more. For best results, melt our organic cocoa butter using indirect heat in a double boiler.
