Water based colours are water-soluble artificial colours used for solid soap, liquid soap and water-based products like shampoos and bath foams.
The water based colours are very concentrated - the more you put in, the stronger the colour!
Because water-based colours don't sink to the bottom when mixed with liquids, they are the best choice for liquid products that have a low viscosity. These liquid colours are not light sensitive and do not discolour your sink or bath. They can easily keep without fading for 7 years in an airtight container; just don’t store them in direct sunlight. They’re best stored in a dry and dark place.

- This product is not a hair dye and is not intended to colour hair. It is a water-based colourant designed specifically for colouring cosmetic products like gels and creams. When used correctly in hair gels or creams, it will not affect hair colour or texture.

- Can these colours be used to add details to soaps once the soap is set?
- Thank you for your enquiry. We have always used them in melt and pour soaps so the soap was in a liquid form when adding them. They are meant to be mixed with liquids. As we haven't tried it on soap that has already set, I'm not sure what the final result would be. The colour may not disperse evenly or incorporate into the soap effectively and I think it might be challenging. The only way to know though is to try it on one bar.

- If used at a high enough percentage any of the water based colours could stain the skin. As these are very concentrated colours very little is needed to add colour to a product eg a couple of drops will add a hint of colour to a cream whereas a shower gel might need 10 drops to give it a stronger colour that would not stain. Our Water Based Colours are already mixed so no need to dissolve them prior to use. You would need to experiment to find out how much is best for your particular product.
